Tip of the Month
Out of sight, out of mind. A great way to avoid the tempting foods that are in your house is to put them out of sight. If they are sitting out in full view, every time you walk past the food, you may be tempted to eat. Put problematic foods in the back of the cupboard or refrigerator so you don’t see them when you open the door. You can also wrap them in foil or put them in a plastic container so the label is not visible. You may also want to consider having a separate cupboard for the family members who eat these foods and make it their cupboard, not yours.
Do some problem food-proofing in your kitchen. Move it out of sight and reduce the temptation. This is a good project to do with your support person so he/she becomes aware of the foods you need watch out for.
