Alyson Crawford, MD, FACS, MSc

Alyson Crawford, MD, FACS, MSc, is a general and colorectal surgeon in Reno, Nevada. She completed a residency in General Surgery and two fellowships in Colon and Rectal Surgery, with advanced training in both operative and non-operative management of complex colorectal conditions.

Dr. Crawford’s areas of expertise include colon and rectal cancer, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, benign and malignant perianal and anal diseases such as hemorrhoids, fissures, condyloma, and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as pelvic floor disorders including rectal prolapse and fecal incontinence. She also performs general, laparoscopic, oncologic, and robotic surgery.

Dr. Crawford earned her medical degree and completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. During this time, she also completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology. She went on to complete specialized fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
