About Corinna Jewell, PA-C

Corinna Jewell, PA-C, joined Western Surgical Group in August 2024, bringing nearly two decades of physician assistant experience with specialized expertise in urology and general surgery. A Nevada native who has dedicated her career to serving the Northern Nevada community, Corinna combines extensive clinical experience with a deep commitment to patient education and compassionate care.

Corinna earned her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia, graduating Cum Laude and earning recognition on the President’s List. She completed her pre-physician assistant curriculum with an emphasis in biology at Georgia State University, where she made the Dean’s List, and began her healthcare career by earning her Associate in Arts and Certified Nursing Aid certification from Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno.

Before joining Western Surgical Group, Corinna spent over 18 years as a Physician Assistant at Urology Nevada (formerly Nevada Urology Associates) in Reno, where she provided comprehensive urologic care in clinic, hospital, and operating room settings. Her extensive experience in urology, combined with her background in urgent care and diverse clinical rotations, gives her a well-rounded perspective on patient care across multiple specialties.

With nearly two decades of focused experience in urology, Corinna has developed extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating urologic conditions. Her skills include urodynamic testing for complex bladder conditions, treatment of prostate cancer with LHRH agonists, management of erectile dysfunction, minor in-office procedures, and comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient care. This specialized background makes her uniquely qualified to support Western Surgical Group’s surgical practice.

Her experience includes functioning as a practitioner in clinic, hospital, and operating room settings, as well as serving as an on-call provider—demonstrating her versatility and commitment to comprehensive patient care.

Her additional experience in urgent care settings has enhanced her ability to quickly assess and treat acute conditions, making her a valuable asset in both planned surgical care and urgent situations. She is proficient in electronic medical records systems and stays current with advances in urologic and surgical care.

Commitment to Northern Nevada

As a Northern Nevada native who completed her early healthcare education at Truckee Meadows Community College, Corinna has deep roots in the community she serves. Her decision to return to Nevada after completing her physician assistant training in Georgia reflects her commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to her home community. With the exception of her physician assistant education, Corinna has spent her entire career in Northern Nevada, building lasting relationships with patients and colleagues.
