Natasha D. Bir, MD, MHS, FACS

Dr. Natasha Bir brings over 13 years of surgical expertise and compassionate patient care to Western Surgical Group. A Harvard graduate who earned her medical degree from UC Davis, Dr. Bir completed her general surgery residency at UCSF-East Bay and has since built an exceptional career serving patients across Northern California.

With extensive experience in both community and tertiary care settings, Dr. Bir specializes in treating a wide range of conditions including breast disease (benign and malignant), colorectal surgery, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and complex wound care. She is highly skilled in advanced laparoscopic techniques, breast oncoplastics, abdominal wall reconstruction, and dialysis access surgery.

Beyond her clinical excellence, Dr. Bir is a recognized leader in healthcare. She has served as Chair of Surgery at Woodland Memorial Hospital, Medical Director of Perioperative Services, and Surgery Clerkship Director. Her commitment to physician wellbeing led her to become a certified Physician Development Coach, specializing in career transitions and mid-career guidance.

Dr. Bir holds a Master of Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. She is currently expanding her surgical capabilities through robotic surgery training. A published researcher with a focus on trauma and critical care, Dr. Bir is fluent in Spanish and brings both clinical expertise and genuine compassion to every patient interaction.
