About Richard Butler, MD
Dr. Butler is a trauma and acute care surgeon at Western Surgical Group. With a focus on emergency general surgery and critical care, he is passionate about delivering emergency care that improves the quality of life for patients facing critical injury or illness.
Dr. Butler employs state-of-the-art technologies, including the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System, to optimize patient outcomes. His approach to patient care is rooted in the overall patient experience, only using the latest techniques to enhance the quality of care and emphasizing the total impact his care will have on the person receiving it.
Originally from Oregon, Dr. Butler is an avid outdoorsman and was drawn to Reno for its climate and recreation. When he’s not changing lives through critical care, you can find him exploring the great Nevada outdoors with his wife.
